We are a fully equipped eyecare clinic offering comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages. We strive to make your eye examination as thorough and convenient as possible, starting with options for online booking, text, phone, and email reminders, and direct billing of your MSP and extended insurance benefits.
Comprehensive Eye Exam
Your comprehensive eye examination includes three main components:
- Vision assessment. Refraction is performed to diagnose and determine your best optical correction for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Total eye health assessment. Our doctors will check for eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eyes, and diabetic retinopathy. We diagnose, manage and treat both acute and chronic eye issues, and recommend ways to keep your eyes healthy in the future.
- Lens consultation. Our doctors and licensed opticians will discuss the best options to optimally correct your vision with glasses or contact lenses, including options for UV protection, sports eyewear, safety glasses, and other customized solutions.
Wearing contacts? Please assist us by bringing your contact lens prescription or your lens packaging to your office visit
Dry Eye Treatment Session
Our in-office Dry Eye Treatment Session provides effective dry eye symptom relief to patients suffering from meibomian gland dysfunction or blepharitis. Advanced screening methods, including meibography, are used to categorize the type and severity of dry eye you are experiencing while documenting changes over time. During this treatment session, our doctors perform manual expression to unblock the meibomian glands to improve their ability to function. Next, ZEST treatment is administered to provide a deep cleanse to the lids and lashes. By cleaning the eyelid margins and opening up the meibomian glands, it helps release oils into the eye that are required for a healthy tear film and reduces stubborn eye dryness and discomfort. The optometrist will then work with you to create a customized dry eye management plan and recommend products for personalized symptom relief. This session is complete with follow-up visits to monitor your progress and make any necessary modifications to your unique home treatment regimen, providing a cooperative approach to your eyecare expected to manage your dry eye symptoms for 6 months (depending on the severity of your dry eye and adherence to the home treatment plan).
Myopia Management
If our doctors discover your child’s myopic prescription to increase significantly over a short time, they will use their expertise to offer treatment to reduce the progression of myopia and limit future risk of vision-threatening conditions for your child. These advanced technologies, such as myopia control lenses or contact lenses and low dose atropine eye drops, are supported by recent innovative research and can improve your child’s quality of life in the future. Our doctors will work with you and your child to monitor their condition regularly and choose the best therapy for your lifestyle.
Problem Specific Exam
Our doctors can assess and treat red eyes, sore eyes, sudden onset blurred vision, double vision, flashes and floaters, and vision loss. We can perform foreign body removals and treat abrasions and injuries. We give you excellent care on an urgent basis and keep you from having to wait in the emergency room.
We do LASIK and refractive surgery assessments and co-management.
Modern Technology
Comprehensive Eye Exam
We utilize EIDON retinal imaging as part of every comprehensive eye exam. The EIDON retinal camera is a state-of-the-art imaging technology which provides a wide-field, high-definition photo of the retina. This helps us diagnose and monitor eye diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma, as well as complications of diabetes and high blood pressure. The images are saved as a permanent part of your record, allowing us to compare the images year to year and detect any changes.
Visual field testing is available for assessing your peripheral vision for driver’s exams and glaucoma testing.
Mediworks S390L Firefly WDR Digital Anterior Segment and Meibography Slit Lamp
The Firefly Slit Lamp is a dry eye diagnostic and analyzer tool that provides important information about the tear film and condition of the ocular surface. The device performs evaluations of factors that contribute to your dry eye symptoms, including ocular surface inflammation, tear film stability, non-invasive tear breakup time, eye redness, tear meniscus, demodex, and abortive blinking. It also captures meibography images with infrared technology to visualize the morphology of the Meibomian Glands, helping our doctors track any gland loss over time.
Dilation Information
Dilation drops may be used to better assess your ocular health. These drops will open up your pupils and make you more light sensitive for about two to four hours. They may make your near vision temporarily blurred. Most patients are fine to drive with dilated pupils, but will require sunglasses for comfort outside.
